About the role
This is a rare opportunity to shape MHA’s integration capability at the outset of a broader programme of organisational transformation. Working collaboratively and with care, you will help deliver solutions that improve the wellbeing of our residents, colleagues, customers and communities.
We are looking for a Integrations Engineer with significant experience of designing, delivering and supporting complex integration solutions to join our IT Team on a 24-month fixed-term contract. Working closely with the Data Architect and Operational Leads, you will support both day-to-day IT operations and strategic change initiatives. You will play a key role in the design, implementation and maintenance of robust integration solutions that align with and support our enterprise strategy.
Reporting & Relationships
Report directly to the Systems Solutions Manager and use strong technical credibility to build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, delivery partners and suppliers. Act as a brand ambassador for MHA by consistently embodying our values: respect, dignity, nurturing mind and spirit, and inspiring excellence in others.
About you
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience of contributing to complex digital transformation programmes, using their integration expertise to translate strategic objectives into reliable, scalable data solutions.
You will be a highly experienced Integrations Engineer with a strong understanding of cloud platforms, databases, and the applications and tools used to maximise their potential. You will bring extensive knowledge of the full data-modelling lifecycle, from conceptualisation through to database optimisation, together with significant hands-on experience as a Data Engineer. You will hold a bachelor’s degree or demonstrate substantial equivalent experience in the relevant areas.
Key Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain robust integrations and pipelines across cloud and on-premises platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory/Fabric and equivalent tools).
- Develop and optimise ETL/ELT processes (extraction, transformation, loading) to meet business, reporting, and analytics requirements.
- Implement data quality, validation, and monitoring controls to ensure accurate, reliable, and timely data flows.
- Troubleshoot, resolve, and prevent integration incidents; continuously improve performance, scalability, and resiliency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to gather requirements, design interfaces, and deliver end-to-end integrations.
- Embed data security, privacy, and governance standards into integration designs, including access controls and auditability.
- Produce and maintain clear technical documentation (data flows, mappings, runbooks) and contribute to best practices and automation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
