What you'll be doing

In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based integrative therapy to adults, providing individual and group interventions tailored to each patient's needs.
  • Complete comprehensive psychological assessments, develop collaborative care plans, and maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to case discussions, risk management, and treatment planning to achieve positive patient outcomes.
  • Build strong therapeutic relationships that promote recovery, resilience, and emotional wellbeing within an inpatient mental health setting.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, service development, and continuous professional development, ensuring practice remains aligned with current evidence and best practice.

What you'll bring to the role

Essential for the role

Applicants should hold a minimum Level 5 Diploma in Counselling or Psychotherapy, with accreditation through BACP, UKCP, or NCPS Senior Accreditation. Applicants who are not yet accredited must be working towards accreditation and able to submit an application within 12 months. Applicants should have post-qualification experience in mental health settings, including inpatient and/or outpatient services.

The following experience would be beneficial

  • Working with adults experiencing a range of complex mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders, and mood disorders.
  • Experience delivering both individual and group therapy within an inpatient or outpatient setting is highly desirable.
  • Confidence working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and safeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • The ability to build effective therapeutic relationships.
  • Experience of delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records.
  • Contributing to service development and quality improvement.
