About the Role
Indra is expanding in the UK to support strategic projects, and we are seeking a IPR Manager (IP Rights) to oversee Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) management for the Proteus Contract with Transport for London (TfL).
In collaboration with Project Manager, Change Manager, Quality Manager, and Standards Compliance Manager, you will ensure full adherence to IPR obligations, contractual documentation, and industry best practices, encompassing documentation, asset management, and stakeholder coordination.
Key Responsibilities

IP Identification & Classification:
- Lead the identification and systematic classification of IP across the entire system.

IPR Compliance & Document Management:
- Align IPR artefacts (primarily system documentation) with contractual obligations under the Proteus Agreement.
- Coordinate internal processes to ensure compliance, merging IPR Management Plan updates with Change Management and project governance.

Change Lifecycle IP Integration:
- Collaborate with Project Manager to ensure all IPR deliverables (usage rights, intellectual assets, technical documentation) are produced and updated during each Change phase (planning, assessment, design, implementation, closure).
- Validate Change closure to confirm full IPR compliance and deposit readiness against TfL requirements.

IPR & Module Breakdown Documentation:
- Manage updates to the Module Breakdown Structure (MBS) following Changes, ensuring documentation alignment with new module architectures and Change impacts.

Documentation & Database Governance:
- Operate the IPR Database, confirming accurate metadata for retired/new/modified IP items; maintain database integrity and act as input provider for IPR Review Meetings.
- Oversee the IPR Depository, enforcing structured formats, version control, and accessibility to ensure completeness and audit readiness.

TfL Liaison:
- Serve as the primary IPR contact for TfL, ensuring transparency in IP obligations and facilititation during IPR verification exercises.

DMS & Change Auditing:
- Administer the Document Management System (DMS) in compliance with versioning, metadata, and security standards.
- Monitor IPR deployment across Change lifecycles, tracking dependencies between IPR deliverables and Project Document Map.

Committee & Training Coordination:
- Chair IPR Review Meetings, presenting database status updates, period reports, MBS changes, and progress reports.
- Organise and conduct IPR Awareness Training for team members assigned to document management-related tasks.

Transaction & Exit Processes:
- Manage IPR handback obligations during contract transitions, ensuring documentation meeting pre-agreed standards.
Requirements
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in:
- Law
- Engineering
- Information Management
- Related field
- Certification or training preferred in:
- Intellectual Property Management
- Document Control
- Contract Administration
Experience & Expertise
- Minimum 7 years' experience (with 3 years+ in a senior/lead role) in:
- IPR management
- Project / contract compliance
- Document lifecycle administration (preferably within public-sector transport or IT infrastructure environments).
- Proven experience managing IPR depositories, databases, and change-driven documentation systems.
- Advanced knowledge of Change Management processes and how IPR integrates with agile delivery cycles.

Technical Skills
- Familiarity with:
- Document Management Systems (DMS)
- Version control (e.g., SVN, PCL Verfahren)
- Metadata and filing standards
- Configuration Management & Module Breakdown Structures (MBS)
- IT service frameworks (ITIL) and procedural interplay with IP obligations
Professional Attributes
- Communication – Ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including UK public-sector officials.
- Stakeholder Management – Coordinate across entities, with uncompromising attention to detail for documentation and compliance deadlines.
- Knowledge Capture – Meticulously gather latent requirements through interviews, workshops, and training sessions.
- Workload Escalation – Execute under pressure, balancing conflicting priorities while maintaining adherence to tight contractual deadlines.
- Innovative Mindset – Proactively advocate for process improvements in IPR documentation and compliance.
