The Job

Intellectual Property Solicitor - Summertown, Oxford - Up to £105,000 + Benefits + Bonus

A well-established, Legal 500-ranked law firm with a thriving Corporate & Commercial team is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Solicitor to join their Oxford office.

This is a strategic growth hire – the firm is currently turning away IP work and is ready to invest in building out a dedicated IP offering. You’ll have the chance to lead and shape a new service line, working alongside respected lawyers and a strong client base.

Responsibilities

The Intellectual Property Solicitor will be handling a broad range of IP matters, including:

  • Trade mark registration, portfolio management, and enforcement
  • Copyright advice, licensing, and infringement disputes
  • Design rights and protection strategies
  • IP commercialisation – licensing, franchising, joint ventures, and R&D agreements
  • IP aspects of corporate transactions and M&A
  • Domain name disputes and online brand protection
  • Cease and desist actions and litigation support

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
