Job Description
About the Role
The Intercompany Buyer/Planner is responsible for planning and coordinating material movements between NOV manufacturing locations to ensure products are available to meet customer demand while maintaining optimal inventory levels. This role supports business continuity by balancing supply, demand, and inventory across internal suppliers.
Working closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Materials teams, you will monitor demand forecasts, manage intercompany orders, resolve supply constraints, and contribute to maintaining high service levels across the business.

Responsibilities
- Plan and execute intercompany purchase orders to support customer demand and operational requirements.
- Translate demand forecasts into effective supply and replenishment plans.
- Monitor material availability, inventory levels, supplier lead times, and capacity constraints across internal manufacturing sites.
- Expedite, reschedule, or decommit orders to minimise supply disruptions and meet business priorities.
- Maintain production planning schedules and support regular planning meetings.
- Update job status reports and planning information on a daily basis.
- Investigate and resolve non-conformance issues affecting material availability.
- Review cancelled orders and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Collaborate with internal manufacturing plants, purchasing teams, and customer service to optimise supply chain performance.
- Contribute to inventory optimisation initiatives while maintaining agreed customer service levels.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management System procedures, Health & Safety policies, and departmental work instructions.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
Experience
- Previous experience in a Planning, Buyer/Planner, Supply Planning, Materials Planning, Production Planning, or Inventory Planning role.
- Strong understanding of Inventory Management and Supply Planning principles.
- Experience coordinating material flow within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Technical Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience using ERP systems and planning databases.
- Ability to interpret demand forecasts and production schedules.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within an intercompany or multi-site manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of MRP/ERP planning systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDE or similar).
- Experience supporting inventory optimisation and service level improvement initiatives.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
