Interdisciplinary Research & Collections Engagement Officer (Creative Manchester)
We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to join our team as Interdisciplinary Research & Collections Engagement Officer (Creative Manchester). This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the intersection of interdisciplinary research, university collections, and collaborative scholarly networks, within a dynamic and inclusive environment. It will enable researchers from multiple disciplines to engage meaningfully with special, scientific and cultural collections, supports research groups and networks whose work draws on archival or material holdings, and manages events, workshops, and knowledge exchange activity.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Contributing to the development and coordination of interdisciplinary research, university collections, and collaborative scholarly networks.
- Managing cross-Faculty and cross-disciplinary research groups using university collections, acting as the liaison between researchers, archivists, curators, and professional services.
- Contributing to the effective and efficient management of academic work and grant capture on research collections across the Cultural Institution collections’ research activities.
- Producing written content that highlights and supports the convening of interdisciplinary research using collections, including news stories, project updates, and digital showcases.
- Providing advice and guidance on key issues concerning activities and other relevant strategies to the University’s collections.

About You

Essential Criteria:
- Significant experience supporting academic networks, research groups, or collaborative scholarly projects and budget management.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams, priorities, and stakeholders, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Extensive experience of designing, planning and managing successful large events (both physical and virtual) with internal and external attendees.
