Join a 1st line of defence team with a broad mandate, responsible for managing NatWest's structural interest rate hedge and the interest rate risk arising from our customer businesses.

This is a role where you'll manage risk as principal, working closely with Treasury Markets and our customer businesses to understand their requirements.

You'll have the opportunity to further develop your existing skills while broadening your knowledge across financial markets, banking and Asset & Liability Management.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You'll also be involved in the management of Treasury's spot and forward foreign currency positions, as well as the funding and hedging of foreign currency branches and subsidiaries.

You’ll Also:

  • Liaise with business stakeholders to develop a deeper understanding of balance sheet dynamics, management accounting and customer product flows
  • Work closely with Treasury Markets to ensure hedging activity reflects prevailing wholesale market conditions and liquidity considerations
  • Partner with the Hedge Accounting team to minimise IFRS accounting volatility on legal entity income statements
