Interface / Integration Developer (Java)
Location: London, UK (Hybrid – 2–3 days/week)
Job Type: Contract
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Interface / Integration Developer (Java) to design, develop, and support enterprise integration platforms. You will build scalable integration solutions using Java, IBM MQ, APIs, and microservices while collaborating with business and technology teams in a fast-paced financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based integration solutions using Spring Boot and Apache Camel.
- Build scalable microservices, REST/SOAP APIs, and IBM MQ message flows.
- Develop automated tests (JUnit/Cucumber) and support UAT.
- Participate in code reviews and follow secure SDLC and CI/CD practices.
- Provide 3rd line production support and troubleshoot integration issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Produce technical documentation and ensure compliance with governance standards.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to improve delivery.

- Strong Core Java (Collections, Concurrency, NIO)
- Spring Boot, JPA, Hibernate

- IBM MQ (configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning)
- Microservices, REST/SOAP APIs
- XML, XSD, XSLT, JSON
- SQL & ORM frameworks
- CI/CD (Git, TeamCity)
- Linux (Bash, SSH)
- Experience in Front Office / Trading environments
- Knowledge of Investment Banking / Financial Products
