The Vacancy

Accounts Payable Assistant - 6-Month Fixed Term Contract

The Accounts Payable Assistant will work alongside a small team of colleagues with responsibility for accurate and timely processing of purchase invoices in MTC's Dynamics 365 ERP system. This role offers wide exposure to many colleagues across all functions within our exciting and fast-moving professional services business.

This role is a 6-month fixed term contract to fill a current vacancy and provide additional capacity during a busy period.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Accounts Payable Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our purchase-to-pay process by:

  • Day to day processing of invoices following a defined Accounts Payable process.
  • Able to multi-task, prioritise and following through on open purchase related queries with other stakeholders in the business in a professional and organised manner.
  • Adhering to well defined good practice controls for purchase invoices.
  • Team working to support other colleagues as volume or needs arise (e.g. during annual leave of others in the team).
  • Supporting and working with non-Finance teams to help them complete their responsibilities for invoice processing.
  • Working alongside the Procurement team to problem-solve purchase order and invoice differences.
  • Working with a portfolio of suppliers to reconcile accounts and resolve unmatched invoices.

  • Previous Accounts Payable processing experience, including transacting in a recognised ERP system.
  • Able to demonstrate a methodical and controls-led approach for Accounts Payable.
  • A supportive and adaptable attitude towards sharing responsibilities within a team of equals.
  • Good communication skills with all levels of stakeholders in the business.
  • Experience of working in a hybrid-working environment.

Desirable Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant Finance or Accounts Payable qualifications desirable.
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Working knowledge of VAT rules for purchasing transactions.
  • Wider experience in other aspects of Finance considered beneficial.

Our Interview Process

Once you submit your application, this will be passed on to our Talent Acquisition team for review.

If you are successfully shortlisted, the next steps will be a two-stage interview process, comprising:

  • Initial interview via Microsoft Teams.
  • Second-stage interview in person at MTC's Ansty location.
