Interim Area Manager - Elderly Care Provider (South West)
Contract: Interim (6 months)
Location: South West (multi-site)
Start: ASAP
Rate: Competitive (DOE)
Panoramic Associates are working with an established elderly care provider in the South West who are seeking an experienced Interim Area Manager to provide hands-on, visible leadership across a portfolio of services. This is a key assignment for someone who can quickly stabilise performance, support Registered Managers, and ensure consistently high standards of care, compliance, and commercial delivery.
The Assignment
You'll take responsibility for the operational oversight of multiple services, supporting teams to deliver safe, high-quality care and strong outcomes across quality, people, occupancy, and finance. You'll work closely with senior leadership to implement improvements, embed best practice, and maintain readiness for inspection.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational leadership across a multi-site elderly care portfolio
- Coach, support, and performance-manage Registered Managers and senior teams
- Drive quality, safeguarding, and governance, ensuring services remain inspection-ready
- Lead action planning and improvement programmes following audits/inspections
- Improve occupancy and manage local stakeholder relationships and referrals
- Oversee budgets, cost control, staffing levels, and agency usage
- Ensure strong compliance across medication, documentation, training, and H&S
- Build a positive culture with clear accountability and consistent standards
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as an Area/Regional Manager (or equivalent) within elderly care (residential and/or nursing)
- Strong working knowledge of CQC expectations and evidence of leading services through inspection cycles
- Track record of improving quality, leadership capability, and operational performance
- Confident managing multi-site teams, difficult performance issues, and change programmes
- Ability to travel across the South West and be visible on-site
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to complete)
