Pearse Professionals are working with a PE backed FinTech firm with an interim Assistant Accountant hire to take ownership of its transactional finance and month-end processes during a busy period. It's a standalone role reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, so you'll have full ownership of AP, AR and bank reconciliations, plus a real say in how the function runs. The culture is proactive and collaborative, and they want someone who gets stuck in from day one.

What you'll own

  • End-to-end AP and AR: invoice and payment processing through automated AP software, invoicing, collections, cash application and bad debt review
  • Weekly multi-currency, multi-entity bank reconciliations, with queries resolved quickly
  • Cash management support, including planning weekly payment runs with the GFC
  • Employee expense and corporate card processing, kept compliant with policy
  • Fixed asset register across multiple entities: additions, disposals, depreciation and audit support
  • Prepayments end to end, from identification through to amortisation in line with close
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations across AP, AR, prepayments, FAR and intercompany
  • Automation and process improvement, including using LLMs to draft first-pass commentary on reconciliation variances and to streamline recurring supplier queries

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
