Work with York Limited are working with our local authority client to find an experienced Assistant Director of Housing on an interim basis. This is a temporary 7 month full-time assignment covering 37 hours per week. Whilst a hybrid role, the role does require weekly in-person visibility in York 2/3 days a week.
We offer competitive weekly pay, holiday pay, and pension with online timesheets.
This Role Involves
- Providing additional senior capacity recognised to support day-to-day leadership and management across housing services, addressing the recent Housing Regulator inspection and transformation projects.
- This will include strategic and operational advice on the full range of housing management, repairs and maintenance, homelessness services, housing development programme.

You Will Need
- Significant experience of strategic planning and implementation, policy development and management in a local authority, major independent service organisation or equivalent.
- A successful track record of achievement at senior level in developing and implementing housing/property policies to achieve outcomes.
- Experienced in developing and implementing organisational culture change strategies within a large diverse organisation.
- Strong people management skills and leadership qualities including the ability to develop and motivate others.
