As an Interim Associate Director of Marketing in the not-for-profit sector

As an Interim Associate Director of Marketing in the not-for-profit sector, you'll oversee marketing strategies and campaigns to ensure they align with organisational goals. This temporary role involves leading a team and managing projects to support the effective delivery of marketing initiatives.

Having recently achieved significant success in student recruitment and engagement, the organisation is entering an exciting new phase of development centred around growth, brand enhancement and strategic transformation.

Description

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across marketing, student recruitment, admissions and events functions.
  • Lead, coach and develop a large team of managers and specialists, fostering a positive and high-performing culture.
  • Provide visible leadership during a period of organisational change, helping to create clarity, confidence and stability across teams.
  • Support the ongoing development of marketing, recruitment and admissions strategies aligned to organisational objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, providing expert advice and guidance on marketing and recruitment priorities.
  • Oversee the successful delivery of major institutional events and engagement activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement across processes, performance and service delivery.

Profile

A successful Interim Associate Director of Marketing should have:

  • Significant experience in a senior marketing leadership role, ideally at Assistant Director, Associate Director, Head of Service or equivalent level.
  • A strong track record of leading large, multidisciplinary teams through periods of change and transformation.
  • Experience overseeing marketing, recruitment, admissions, communications or customer-focused functions within a complex organisation.
  • Excellent people leadership skills, with the ability to engage, motivate and develop teams during periods of uncertainty.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience operating at a senior organisational level.
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on leadership and operational delivery.

Job Offer

  • Daily rate of £350 - £430, dependent on the level of experience.
  • Temporary position with a focus on impactful marketing initiatives.
