Your new role
You will play a key role in delivering an efficient and customer-focused procurement service, supporting a range of operational and scientific teams. Acting as a central point of contact for procurement activities, you will manage the end-to-end purchasing process from requisition through to payment, ensuring orders are processed accurately, suppliers are engaged effectively, and stakeholders receive a responsive service. You will be responsible for:
- Creating and validating purchase orders
- Coordinating supplier communications
- Monitoring order progress
- Supporting goods receipt and invoice processing
- Resolving any purchasing-related issues

The role will also involve assisting with supplier onboarding activities, maintaining strong supplier relationships, and identifying opportunities to improve procurement processes, efficiency, and service delivery.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience within procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations
- Confidence managing multiple requests in a busy environment
- Experience working with purchase orders, requisitions, and supplier management
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Proactive communication skills to build effective relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers
Experience within a research, laboratory, or science-led environment would be advantageous, as would supplier onboarding activities and invoice or accounts payable query resolution.

What you'll get in return
