Hays are partnered exclusively with a reputable and growing telecoms business in Hull to recruit an experienced IT/Indirect Category Manager to lead on their IT and Telecoms spend.

Your new role

The Interim Category Manager is a hands-on role focused on delivering sourcing projects, managing supplier relationships, driving commercial value and supporting stakeholders across the business during a period of change and growth. You will:

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing and procurement activity across IT, telecoms and indirect categories
  • Develop and implement category strategies
  • Manage supplier performance and commercial negotiations
  • Identify cost-saving and value-creation opportunities
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business
  • Ensure procurement best practice and contract compliance

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong background in IT, telecommunications and/or indirect procurement
  • Demonstrable experience delivering sourcing projects and commercial negotiations
  • Able to operate independently and quickly build credibility with stakeholders
  • Available at short notice or immediately available

What you'll get in return

  • Flexible and hybrid working options available, with 3 days required in the office, 2 from home.
  • £450-500 per day (umbrella rate) inside IR35
  • 3-6 month contract working with a reputable employer in Hull

Desired Skills and Experience
