Interim CFO | Technology-Led Professional Services Scale-Up | Immediate Start
The Client
Harmonic is delighted to be partnering with a fast-scaling, technology-led professional services business at a pivotal moment. The company has grown quickly, builds its own technology, and has ambitions to be genuinely AI-native across the way it operates. It is now moving to refinance, and getting that deal done cleanly, quickly and on the right terms is a board-level priority.
The Role
This is a full-time interim CFO mandate with a single, clear focus: lead the refinancing and get the deal over the line. Reporting to the CEO and working with an established corporate finance advisory team, you will own the internal side of the raise: building the credit narrative, pulling the content and numbers together, and standing in front of the banks and their credit committees to close it. The debt stack is not currently optimised and interest costs are too high, so pace matters; the aim is to close within defined windows this autumn. This is a hands-on and strategic role for a deal maker who can walk in, get on top of the numbers, tell the story credibly, and take the pressure of the process off the leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the debt refinancing end to end, from shaping the approach through to close within the target timetable.
- Build the credit narrative and the supporting story that lenders and credit committees will underwrite.
- Own the numbers going into the process, firm up the forecast and present clean, accurate management information.
- Represent the business in front of banks, lenders and credit committees, and get the deal done when the CEO is not in the room.
- Work hand in hand with the corporate finance advisors, giving them the internal support and content they need to move at pace.
- Hold the deal timetable to account and keep the process moving so every week of unnecessary interest cost is stripped out.
- Act as a senior commercial finance partner to the CEO through a business-critical raise.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
