Interim Chief Executive Officer
North Tyneside VODA is seeking an experienced Interim Chief Executive Officer to join us from 23 November 2026, providing clear, visible and hands-on leadership during a period of transition while our Board recruits a substantive Chief Executive.
Working closely with our Chair and Board of Trustees, you will take overall responsibility for the effective day-to-day leadership and management of VODA. You will provide stability and confidence for our staff, trustees and partners, maintain momentum on existing priorities and ensure our services continue to be delivered effectively.
This is a varied and hands-on leadership role with responsibility spanning our people, finances, services, funding, partnerships, governance and organisational risk. You will also maintain VODA’s important role as a trusted advocate for the VCSE sector in North Tyneside, building strong relationships with voluntary and community organisations, public sector partners, funders and commissioners.

We are looking for an experienced senior leader who can step into the role quickly, understand the organisation, establish priorities and build trusted relationships. You will bring strong leadership and financial management experience, sound judgement and the ability to combine strategic oversight with practical involvement. Experience within the VCSE or wider public service environment would be particularly valuable.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Chair and Board of Trustees for overall leadership and management of VODA.
- Provide stability and confidence to staff, trustees, and partners.
- Maintain momentum on existing priorities.
- Ensure effective delivery of services.
- Maintain VODA’s role as a trusted advocate for the VCSE sector.
- Build strong relationships with voluntary and community organizations, public sector partners, funders, and commissioners.

Requirements
- Experienced senior leader.
- Strong leadership and financial management experience.
- Sound judgment.
- Ability to combine strategic oversight with practical involvement.
- Experience within the VCSE or wider public service environment is particularly valuable.
Details
- Hours: Full-time
- Salary: £49,342 per annum
- Contract: Fixed term, initially six months
