Exciting Interim Opportunity – Commercial Counsel
HOUSEHOLD NAME
Location: UK / London Hybrid
Duration: 4–6 months - immediate start
We are working with a fast-growing household name, a European technology and infrastructure business with a strong presence across the UK and Europe. The business is at an exciting stage of its growth journey, following significant recent acquisitions and a major period of integration and transformation.
Legal is viewed as a genuine commercial partner to the business, working closely with senior stakeholders to support growth, improve processes, and help navigate an evolving commercial landscape.
About the Role
This is an exciting interim opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys variety, responsibility, and being close to the business. You will join a high-calibre, collaborative legal team and have significant exposure to complex commercial work. The role offers genuine breadth and the opportunity to work closely with Sales, Commercial, Operations, and senior stakeholders across the business.

This would suit a strong Commercial Counsel who is confident negotiating complex agreements, enjoys solving problems, and takes a pragmatic, commercially focused approach.
Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex and bespoke commercial agreements.
- Supporting strategic commercial partnerships with major e-commerce, retail, and consumer businesses.
- Working closely with Sales and Commercial teams on key transactions and business initiatives.
- Supporting the integration of recently acquired businesses, including reviewing and harmonizing commercial contracts.
- Advising on a broad range of commercial and operational arrangements.
- Providing pragmatic advice on commercial risk and helping stakeholders find practical solutions.
- Supporting the development of scalable contracting processes and playbooks.

We are looking for a commercially minded lawyer with a strong general commercial background who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced and evolving business. You'll ideally have:
- Strong experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the confidence to work directly with senior commercial teams.
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach to legal issues.
- The ability to manage a varied workload and take ownership of matters.
- Experience working in-house or in private practice with strong commercial exposure.
- A genuine interest in understanding the business and helping it achieve its commercial objectives.
