MLA is working on an excellent interim opportunity with a recently launched, independently operated investment management firm that has spun out from a leading global hedge fund and is continuing to build and scale its platform.

Interim Commercial Counsel

The legal team is looking to hire an Interim Commercial Counsel for an initial 6-month contract to support a broad range of commercial contracting and business-as-usual legal matters across the organisation.

Responsibilities

Reporting into a senior member of the legal team, you'll be responsible for advising on a wide range of commercial and operational matters, including:

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Advising on supplier, vendor and procurement agreements
  • Supporting internal stakeholders across operations, HR and finance
  • Reviewing employee benefits, healthcare and workplace services arrangements
  • Identifying legal and commercial risk while providing pragmatic, business-focused advice
  • Assisting with the development of legal processes and frameworks as the organisation continues to scale

Key Requirements

  • 3 – 5 years PQE, England & Wales qualified lawyer (or equivalent jurisdiction). More senior candidates will also be considered.
  • Strong commercial contracts experience (in-house and/or private practice)
  • Experience negotiating supplier, procurement and services agreements
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Available at short notice

This is a highly commercial, business-facing role offering the opportunity to work closely with stakeholders across operations, HR, finance and other corporate functions during an exciting period of growth.

Location

London (5 days per week in the office)
