Interim Legal Counsel (SaaS/Healthtech) | 4+ PQE | London
We're working with a fast-growing SaaS business whose technology is widely used across the healthcare sector, including the NHS, to hire an experienced Interim Legal Counsel for a short-term assignment providing cover within its legal team.
The assignment starts in mid-October and would suit a commercial lawyer who's comfortable operating autonomously within a small, fast-paced in-house legal function. You'll take full ownership of day-to-day legal matters for the duration of the cover, acting as the go-to legal voice in the business without a large team behind you.
The role has a strong commercial focus, with particular weight on customer and SaaS contracting, alongside a data protection element covering DPAs and controller/processor relationships. It's a great opportunity for a lawyer who enjoys variety, moves at pace, and is confident making decisions independently.

The Role
- Own a broad range of day-to-day commercial legal work, with particular focus on customer and SaaS contracts
- Review, draft and negotiate a high volume of customer agreements efficiently and pragmatically
- Handle data protection matters, including reviewing and marking up DPAs and advising on controller/processor relationships
- Pick up general ad hoc legal queries as they arise
- Operate confidently and independently, without a large team around you
About You
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales, or a Commonwealth jurisdiction such as Australia or New Zealand)
- 4+ PQE in commercial legal matters
- Strong experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating customer/commercial contracts, ideally including SaaS agreements
- Good working knowledge of data protection, including DPAs and controller/processor issues
- Comfortable operating autonomously in a small in-house team
- Healthcare or NHS contracting exposure is a strong plus, but not essential - technology/SaaS sector experience is equally valued

The Details
- 📅 Mid-October start (approx. 19 October) for one month
- ⚖️ 4+ PQE
- 📍 London, ideally 2-3 days a week in the office (some flexibility)
- 💼 Interim | Competitive day rate
