Working Arrangements: This is a hybrid working role with attendance at our Chester Head office twice a week.
Objectives of the Role
- Supplier management - overseeing suppliers to ensure they deliver the services we require on time and in full and scheduling regular check-in with suppliers to review performance and resolve issues.
- Checking and approving supplier invoices against the agreed contractual terms
- Analysing commercial proposals from suppliers and helping to negotiate improved terms.
- Investigate ways to save money on what we spend.
- Provide support to the Commercial Manager and to the Commercial Executive on conversions.
- Respond to BDM requests for additional services by liaising with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
General
- Invoicing – checking and approving supplier invoices.
- Support commercial manager on key projects and trials in Proper Pubs
- Liaise with suppliers to resolve any service issues that BDMs have raised at their sites.
- Cover Commercial Exec colleague holidays/absence
- Develop and manage the commercial contract tracker.
- Support to other members of the Commercial team as required (e.g. Commercial Director, Commercial Manager and Commercial Executive).

Projects and Initiatives
- Competitor benchmarking to ensure we stay up to date
- Understand the supplier contracts and hold them to account with their service level agreements.
- Improve ways of working and processes by utilising new technology.
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Actively engage with peers and stakeholders across the business to ensure an effective interface with Commercial Dept
- Build strong relationship with suppliers
- Make effective use of internal communication facilities and opportunities such as The Back Bar, MD Post, Team Meetings.

Skills and Experience
- Effective problem solver and relationship builder
- Analytical with a commercial mindset.
- Proficient in Excel and Teams. A knowledge of Power BI would be a benefit but not essential.
- Pays close attention to detail – a completer finisher
- Strong prioritisation and time-management skills
- Highly motivated to learn and develop.
- Able to demonstrate Admiral’s company values.
- Analytical and negotiation skills beneficial, but not essential.
