This is a highly visible role that sits at the heart of business performance, offering the opportunity to work closely with operational leaders across a regional network of sites. The organisation is seeking a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys being close to the operation, building relationships with non-finance stakeholders and translating financial data into practical insight that drives better decisions.
The successful candidate will play a key role in improving the quality, consistency and usefulness of management information, helping operational teams gain greater visibility of performance and enabling stronger commercial decision-making across the business.
The assignment will commence at the end of August or beginning of September and is expected to run for an initial nine-month period.
What will the role involve?
Reporting into the senior finance leadership team, responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing and enhancing management reporting to ensure information is clear, consistent and relevant for operational stakeholders.
- Translating financial results into meaningful commercial insight that supports improved business performance.
- Partnering with site and operational managers to understand key performance drivers, including margin, labour, materials, costs, WIP and cash performance.
- Providing challenge and support around site profitability, operational efficiency and commercial decision-making.
- Driving greater consistency of reporting and performance measurement across multiple sites.
- Supporting stronger accountability, visibility and commercial understanding throughout the organisation.
- Delivering hands-on finance business partnering support across a geographically dispersed operational network.
- Building credibility with non-finance stakeholders and helping improve the quality of performance conversations across the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
