Interim Commercial Finance Business Partner – Creative & Media
6–9 months | Outside IR35 | £500-£550 per day | London / Bristol Hybrid
We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Finance Business Partner for an interim assignment supporting a fast-moving, creative and commercially focused part of a large consumer business. This is a hands-on role particularly suited to someone who has operated within media, advertising, content, production, digital, design or agency environments, working alongside creative and commercially driven teams.
You’ll partner with senior stakeholders responsible for delivering a broad mix of content, creative campaigns, digital activity and client-led projects.
The assignment
You’ll be joining an evolving area of the organisation where there is an opportunity to bring greater commercial structure, financial visibility and consistency to how activity is managed. Key areas of focus will include:

- Bringing greater visibility and control to people and resource expenditure, including permanent and freelance talent
- Developing a more disciplined approach to assessing and monitoring investment in new ideas, content and commercial propositions
- Improving understanding of the true cost and profitability of products, projects and client activity
- Identifying opportunities to improve the cost base and translating these into clear, deliverable actions
- Introducing straightforward processes and reporting that give senior stakeholders better information for decision-making
- Working across finance and the wider business to ensure improvements are implemented and embedded, rather than simply recommended
About you
We’re particularly interested in people who understand the dynamics of creative and project-led businesses – potentially from media owners, advertising or creative agencies, production businesses, content organisations or similar environments.

You’ll need to be highly self-sufficient and delivery focused. You’ll be given clear objectives, but will be expected to work out how best to achieve them and take ownership through to delivery, without requiring close day-to-day management.
Strong stakeholder management is essential. You’ll be working with senior creative and commercial personalities, so you’ll need the judgement to adapt your style, build credibility quickly, challenge constructively and influence without creating unnecessary friction.
We’d expect you to be a qualified accountant with a strong commercial finance background and evidence of having built or improved processes and ways of working, rather than simply operated within established structures.
