Interim Corporate Counsel / Senior Legal Counsel
PE-Backed Growth Business | M&A Focus
An acquisitive, private equity-backed business is seeking an experienced Corporate Lawyer to support a busy programme of M&A activity and strategic growth initiatives.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, this role will play a key part in executing acquisitions, managing external counsel and helping to develop legal processes within a rapidly evolving organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer looking to combine high-quality transactional work with broader in-house exposure.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support M&A transactions and bolt-on acquisitions
- Review and negotiate term sheets, transaction documents and commercial agreements
- Coordinate and manage external legal advisers
- Advise business stakeholders on legal and commercial risk
- Support governance, compliance and broader corporate legal matters
- Help build scalable legal frameworks and processes within a growing business

About You
- UK-qualified lawyer with approximately 5-12 years' PQE
- Strong corporate/M&A background gained at a leading law firm
- Private equity, sponsor-side or PE portfolio company experience desirable
- Commercially astute with a practical approach to risk
- Interested in operating close to the business rather than solely as a technical legal adviser
- Previous in-house experience beneficial but not essential
