We are partnering with a growing international business to appoint a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join its expanding legal function.

The role offers a broad remit, with a particular focus on M&A alongside general corporate and commercial matters. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will provide practical legal advice across a range of business activities and play an important role in supporting the organisation's continued growth.

The role

Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading legal workstreams on M&A transactions from initial stages through to completion.
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of corporate and commercial agreements.
  • Advising internal stakeholders on general legal, regulatory and operational matters.
  • Working with external legal advisers on specialist matters where required.
  • Supporting the development of legal processes, templates and ways of working as the business continues to grow.

About you

We are looking for a qualified solicitor with 3+ years' PQE and experience across M&A and commercial legal work.

You will ideally have a combination of private practice and in-house experience, although this is not essential. Experience within a fast-paced or growing business would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Strong M&A and commercial contracting experience.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
  • A practical and commercially focused approach to legal advice.
  • The ability to manage a varied workload and work autonomously.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to work closely with senior colleagues.
