Credit Controller (6-Month Fixed-Term Contract)

Location: Gloucester

Salary: £30,000 - £32,000

Working Pattern: Hybrid (4 days in the office initially)

Contract: 6 Months

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Credit Controller to join a well-established business on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role will play a key part in supporting cash collection activities and reducing aged debt across a busy customer portfolio.

This is a highly customer-facing position with a strong focus on outbound collections calls, making it ideal for someone who is confident on the phone, resilient, and able to build positive relationships with customers while ensuring timely payment.

  • Proactively manage and collect outstanding debt via telephone and email.
  • Build strong relationships with customers to resolve payment issues efficiently.
  • Reduce aged debt and improve cash flow performance.
  • Investigate and resolve account queries and discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and collection notes.
  • Liaise with internal departments to support the resolution of outstanding issues.
  • Monitor customer payment trends and escalate concerns where appropriate.
  • Support month-end reporting and wider credit control activities.

About You

  • Previous experience within a credit control or collections role.
  • Strong telephone-based collections experience.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Confident handling challenging conversations professionally.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and finance systems.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
