About the job

Our client, a leading international banking and wealth management business, is seeking an experienced Interim Credit & Lending Lawyer to join its UK legal team on a 6-month basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a 3–7 PQE banking/finance lawyer with strong transactional credit experience to advise on a broad range of lending matters across a diverse loan portfolio.

The role will focus on property lending and securities-backed (Lombard) lending, alongside some specialist financing arrangements, working with a wide range of borrower and security provider structures.

  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Duration: 6-month Contract
  • Working Pattern: Full-time
  • Location: London/hybrid (3 days p/w in the office)
  • Day Rate: £Daily Rate DOE
  • Equipment: Provided

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising on a broad range of transactional credit facilities and loan lifecycle matters.
  • Supporting property lending, securities-backed (Lombard) lending, and specialist financing transactions.
  • Advising on facilities involving individuals, domestic and overseas corporates, charities, and other wealth structures.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating facility and security documentation.
  • Advising on regulated mortgage contracts and consumer credit considerations.
  • Providing practical, commercially focused advice to senior business stakeholders.
  • Supporting policies, procedures, and facility template documentation where required.
  • Managing matters with a high degree of autonomy and light supervision.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer with 3–7 years' PQE.
  • Strong transactional credit and loan facilities experience.
  • Experience with property lending and/or securities-backed lending is highly desirable.
  • MCOB knowledge is desirable but not essential.
  • Comfortable advising on a range of borrower and security provider structures.
  • Previous experience within a bank, financial institution, or private banking environment would be advantageous.
