Interim Data Manager | UK Challenger Bank | Six-Month Contract
We are supporting a UK challenger bank in appointing an Interim Data Manager to lead its data warehousing and reporting capability.
This is a hands-on leadership role within a new and developing technology function. Working closely with the CTO, you will establish and lead a critical data project, manage a small team and ensure the bank’s data capability delivers meaningful commercial outcomes.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the bank’s data warehousing and reporting capability
- Establish the project, define its direction and drive delivery
- Build scalable, effective data and reporting solutions
- Manage and develop a small data team
- Bring strong technical expertise and practical content to the programme
- Translate business requirements into clear data priorities and deliverables
- Act as a commercial business partner to stakeholders across the bank
- Work closely with the CTO and wider technology leadership team
- Manage delivery risks, dependencies and third-party partners where required

We are looking for:
- A highly experienced, hands-on data leader
- Strong technical knowledge of data warehousing, reporting and data architecture
- A proven ability to establish and deliver data transformation projects
- Experience managing small teams within new or evolving technology functions
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to connect technical delivery with business outcomes
- Extensive and recent experience within banking and fintech

Contract details:
- Initial six-month contract
- Predominantly remote
- Applicants must be based in the UK
- Monthly travel to London for a team day
- Up to £700 per day, depending on experience
- There is no flexibility above the stated maximum day rate
