Our Client

Our client is an international Charity, looking for an Interim Director of Corporate Services to lead the organisation through an important period of transition. The successful candidate will ensure continuity across finance, HR, governance and operations, including overseeing the year-end and external audit process.

This is a fixed-term interim appointment running from mid-October 2026 until March 2027.

The Role

  • Lead the finance, HR, governance and operations functions, overseeing a team of 10 with four direct reports.
  • Guide the organisation through its December year-end and subsequent external audit, supporting the Head of Finance and wider team to deliver a clean and well-managed process.
  • Provide strategic oversight while remaining hands-on with day-to-day delivery, including approvals, sign-offs, policy reviews and audit preparation.
  • Ensure a smooth handover across all corporate services functions during a period of leadership transition.
  • Make key financial and operational decisions within agreed governance frameworks and treasury policies.
  • Work closely with the Senior Management Team and trustees, providing clear advice and constructively challenging decisions where appropriate.
  • Support an established and capable team, maintaining the strong processes and controls already in place rather than seeking to undertake unnecessary transformation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
