Interim Director of Engineering | Finance SaaS | Up to £1,000 per day | Inside IR35 | 6-Month Contract | Nottingham (Onsite)
We're partnering with one of the UK's most successful SaaS businesses as they launch a brand-new Finance platform that will complete their product suite and unlock the next phase of growth. This isn't a BAU leadership role.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a strategically critical platform, lead a growing engineering organisation, and deliver a product that will allow the business to compete with some of the biggest names in enterprise software.
With nearly 1,000 employees, significant investment, and board-level backing, the ambition is clear: build a market-leading Finance SaaS platform and establish a serious position within the ERP space.
What You'll Be Doing
- Taking ownership of engineering delivery for a flagship Finance SaaS product.
- Leading and inspiring engineering teams across multiple locations.
- Driving delivery against ambitious commercial deadlines.
- Scaling engineering capability while maintaining platform stability.
- Partnering directly with the CTO and senior leadership team.
- Shaping engineering strategy, architecture, and development practices.
- Driving adoption of modern engineering approaches, including AI-assisted development.
- Building a culture focused on quality, pace, accountability, and innovation.

What We're Looking For
- A proven engineering leader who has scaled teams and products in a SaaS environment.
- Strong technical credibility with a background in software engineering (.NET a plus).
- Experience leading large engineering functions and complex delivery programmes.
- A commercial mindset with the ability to align engineering outcomes to business goals.
- Experience within Finance, ERP, accounting, payments, or highly transactional platforms is highly desirable.
- Someone who can influence stakeholders, challenge constructively, and lead from the front.
