Responsibilities
Interim Director of Finance (Hybrid) job with Rutherford Cross' public sector client in Edinburgh for a 12-month period. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for:
- Strategic and operational leadership of the finance department and be part of the executive management group
- Leadership and management of the finance team of 30+ members and also procurement
- Leading on medium-term and annual planning, budgeting, forecasting and ongoing financial performance monitoring
- Ensuring effective business partnering with all departments within the organisation takes place
- Overseeing large-scale capital investment programmes
- Regular engagement and liaison with the Scottish Government
- Overseeing the creation of a clear financial strategy underpinned by risk management, compliance and financial planning
- Ensuring robust financial controls and processes are in place
- Overseeing the production of statutory accounts and liaison with external auditors
- Leading and driving ongoing improvements in systems and processes within the department

You will be a fully qualified accountant and highly experienced Finance Director having worked at board level within a medium or large, complex business. Open to individuals from both within and outwith the public sector, you will have excellent team leadership skills. Previous experience of capital investment projects is required to be successful in this role.

Salary: Circa £100,000 p.a. + generous pension and annual leave
