Role type: 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover)
Location: London Hybrid (2 days a week)
Preferred start date: ASAP

About Us

At Rocket SaaS, we’re redefining what a B2B marketing agency should be.
We partner with ambitious SaaS companies as an extension of their team, building end-to-end demand generation strategies that drive predictable growth. We value curiosity over convention, ownership over process, and collaboration over silos. Nothing is off the table if it helps our clients grow.

Since launching, we’ve grown organically through client referrals, long-term partnerships, and a reputation for delivering measurable results. We’re now looking for an experienced marketing leader to join us on a maternity cover basis and help lead our next stage of growth.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Director of Marketing to lead and coach our Account Director team during a period of maternity cover.

This is a senior management role responsible for the development of our Account Directors, overseeing and improving client results and the quality of the strategies we deliver.

You won’t be expected to run client accounts day to day. Instead, you’ll work through our Account Directors to make sure clients are receiving excellent strategic advice, campaigns are delivering against their goals, and our teams have the support and direction they need to succeed.

You’ll report into the CEO and play an active role in improving how we operate as an agency.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead and Develop our Account Directors
Your primary responsibility will be getting the best out of the AD team.

    • Coach and support Account Directors across strategy, client management, commercial thinking, and team leadership
    • Run regular 1:1s, team meetings, and performance reviews
    • Help ADs solve complex client, team, and strategic challenges
    • Set clear expectations around quality, ownership, and client performance
    • Identify capability gaps and create practical coaching and development plans
    • Support ADs with difficult conversations, client escalations, and performance issues
    • Build a culture of accountability while making sure the team feels supported
  • Own Client Performance at Leadership Level
You’ll provide senior oversight across our client portfolio, making sure our strategies are translating into meaningful results.

    • Review client performance and key account metrics regularly
    • Challenge Account Directors on strategy, results, and commercial opportunities
    • Identify accounts that are off track and help determine what needs to change
    • Get involved in significant client escalations and senior stakeholder conversations
    • Support ADs in developing strong, commercially sound client strategies
    • Ensure we consistently deliver against client expectations and agreed KPIs
    • Work closely with our specialist teams across paid media, content, creative, web, and SEO to ensure activity is joined up

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We Are Looking For

We’re not looking for someone who simply knows a lot about marketing.
We’re looking for a leader of marketers.
Someone who can spot when an AD needs support, when a client strategy needs challenging, when a team needs better processes, and when something needs escalating to leadership.
You’ll need to be commercially minded, calm under pressure, and comfortable making decisions. You should be someone who naturally coaches others, asks good questions, and holds people to a high standard without micromanaging them.

Most importantly, you’ll care about both sides of the role: developing great people and delivering great client outcomes.

Why You'll Love It at Rocket SaaS 🚀

  • Real influence: You’ll have a genuine opportunity to shape how we operate and how our teams develop.
  • Autonomy: We trust experienced people to make decisions and take ownership.
  • Variety: You’ll work across a portfolio of ambitious SaaS businesses, with no two weeks looking the same.
  • Flexibility: Hybrid work from our WeWork office two days a week if you’re in or near London, or fully remote within the UK with occasional trips to see the team.
  • Generous leave: 25 days plus bank holidays.
  • The right kit: A new MacBook to work on.
  • A culture people enjoy being part of: Quarterly staff parties, a monthly team quiz with cash prizes, and free tea, coffee, and beer at the office.

Ready to Join?

If you’re an experienced marketing leader who gets as much satisfaction from developing great people as you do from delivering great marketing, we’d love to hear from you.

This is a maternity cover position, with the opportunity to make a significant impact across our people, clients, and agency operations during your time with us. Subject to business needs and performance, the role may become a permanent position.
