Interim Employment Counsel
London | Hybrid Working
A leading client in the tech space is seeking an experienced Employment Counsel to join its in-house legal team on an interim basis. This is a high-profile role supporting HR and senior stakeholders across a large international workforce, advising on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing pragmatic, risk-based employment law advice to HR, management, and business stakeholders.
- Advising on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, performance management, and whistleblowing issues.
- Supporting complex restructures, reorganisations, and redundancy programmes.
- Drafting and negotiating settlement agreements and advising on exits.
- Reviewing and updating employment policies, procedures, and contractual documentation.
- Managing employment tribunal claims and external counsel where required.
- Advising on cross-border employment law issues and partnering with local counsel where necessary.
- Supporting strategic HR projects and regulatory or compliance-driven initiatives.

- Qualified solicitor with strong UK employment law expertise.
- Previous in-house employment counsel experience preferred.
- Strong experience handling both contentious and advisory employment matters.
- Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced commercial environment.
- Proven ability to build relationships with HR, senior leadership, and business stakeholders.
- Experience within financial services, insurance, consulting, technology, or other regulated sectors would be advantageous.
