  • Represent the senior leader’s office professionally when dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with a wide range of senior and politically significant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate briefing materials, meetings, events, visits and public engagements, ensuring the senior leader is fully prepared.

  • Monitor outstanding actions and commitments, proactively following up with relevant individuals and organisations.
  • Anticipate the needs of the senior leader and identify potential issues before they arise.
  • Assess and appropriately escalate political, reputational and operational risks.
  • Exercise sound judgement when dealing with sensitive or high-profile matters.
  • Make decisions within delegated authority and take ownership of issues with minimal supervision.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Combined Authority and external organisations to ensure effective delivery.

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change at short notice and no two days are the same.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties consistent with the role.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
