Summary
This is a 4-month contract position with a local authority, offering a daily rate of £229.19 via an umbrella company. The role involves leading and managing the Facilities Management function across the Council's operational estate. The primary goal is to ensure that all buildings and facilities are safe, compliant, well-maintained, and suitable for their intended purposes. The successful candidate will oversee daily facilities operations, contractor performance, compliance activities, and both planned and reactive maintenance programs. Additionally, they will focus on enhancing operational efficiency, ensuring value for money, and achieving service excellence throughout the estate.

Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of Facilities Management services across the operational estate.
- Manage the daily operations, maintenance, security, cleanliness, and functionality of Council buildings.
- Ensure facilities meet operational service needs and support employee wellbeing.
- Monitor building systems to identify and implement opportunities for improved operational performance.
- Ensure all assets are maintained and remain suitable for their intended purposes.
Requirements
Essential Experience Required
- Extensive experience in Facilities Management, building operations, or property services.
- Proven track record in managing facilities teams within complex operational settings.
- Experience in overseeing building maintenance, repairs, and compliance activities.
- Skilled in managing contractors, suppliers, and service contracts.
- Proficient in monitoring performance against service standards, SLAs, and KPIs.
- Experience in managing health and safety compliance within a workplace environment.

Essential Qualifications Required
- Degree-level qualification in Facilities Management, Building Services, Property Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Management qualification or substantial supervisory/management experience.
- Strong understanding of building maintenance, facilities operations, and workplace services.
