Job Title: Interim Finance Accountant (3 Month Fixed Term Contract)

Location: Peterborough

Contract and Shift details: Hybrid (2 - 3 days in office)

Are you an experienced Financial Accountant looking for an opportunity to make an immediate impact? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where your expertise helps maintain strong financial controls, ensure statutory compliance, and support critical year-end activities?

Our Group Finance team are looking for an Interim Financial Accountant to join them on a 3–4 month fixed-term contract during an exciting period of transition. In this role, you'll take ownership of key financial accounting processes, support year-end reporting and external audit activities, and help ensure our finance operations continue to run smoothly while we recruit a permanent Group Accountant.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Taking ownership of the Group's monthly VAT returns, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
  • Managing the annual PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) process and completing Office for National Statistics (ONS) reporting.
  • Supporting month-end close activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assisting with year-end financial reporting and preparing audit schedules, statutory accounts working papers and supporting documentation.
  • Liaising with external auditors and responding to audit queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements, statutory reporting deadlines and internal financial controls.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance finance processes and reporting.
  • Providing flexible support across the wider Group Finance team during peak workload periods and other ad hoc financial reporting activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
