Global Accounting Network is partnering with a growing children's nursery group to appoint an experienced Finance Business Partner / FP&A Consultant on an interim basis for 12 months.
This is a newly created role as the business brings its financial modelling capability in-house, having previously outsourced the function. Reporting into the senior leadership team, you'll play a key role in building robust financial models that support strategic decision-making, operational planning and future growth.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building models from the ground up and partnering with stakeholders to drive commercial insight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, enhance and maintain financial models to support business planning and decision-making.
- Analyse nursery performance using key operational metrics, including occupancy levels, number of children, staffing ratios and profitability.
- Produce forecasting models around future growth, capacity planning and workforce requirements across the nursery portfolio.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning.
- Partner with operational leaders to provide commercial insight and recommendations.
- Deliver financial analysis to support acquisitions, new site openings and wider M&A activity.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting, modelling and planning processes as the function is established internally.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
