Finance Contractor – Projects (Tax, FRS 102 & Audit)

We're looking for a hands-on, technically strong finance contractor to work directly with the CFO of a PE-backed group on a defined set of finance projects: a tax health-check (including a review of R&D tax claims), FRS 102 technical accounting positions, and support through the year-end audit plus additional support on discrete finance projects as they arise.

This is a delivery role, not a leadership or strategy role. We need someone who can get into the detail, form a view, and get things resolved with minimal onboarding.

Location: UK (Hybrid), with travel to Group offices as required

Duration: 6 months (day rate)

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Rate: £500–£600 per day (Inside IR35)

Responsibilities:

  • Tax:
    • Implement tax health-check findings across the Group
    • Review historic and in-flight R&D tax claims for eligibility and HMRC compliance risk, and identify further eligible spend
    • Liaise with external tax advisers on submissions and technical positions

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
