Role Overview

We are working with a specialty reinsurance MGA that is looking to appoint an experienced Interim Finance Director on an initial 6–9 month contract.

This is a senior finance leadership role, partnering closely with the executive team to provide clear financial insight, strengthen financial controls, improve reporting, and drive commercial decision-making during a period of change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a senior finance partner to the executive leadership team, providing commercial insight, constructive challenge, and financial guidance.
  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and performance reporting processes.
  • Drive improvements across management information, financial controls, cash management, and working capital.
  • Partner with underwriting, actuarial, operations, and other senior stakeholders to assess performance and commercial opportunities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end, year-end, audit, and regulatory reporting.
  • Identify and address financial, reporting, and control weaknesses.
  • Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring the appropriate level of capability, structure, and accountability.
  • Support finance transformation, process improvement, and systems development.
  • Establish effective finance processes and governance, leaving a sustainable framework in place for the permanent Finance Director.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
