Interim Finance Director – Germany

UK base with regular travel to Germany | 6-Month Contract | £600-£750 per day (Outside IR35)

OVERVIEW

AtkinsClarke are supporting a leading supply chain and logistics organisation with the appointment of an Interim Finance Director to manage a critical phase of operational consolidation and integration.

This is a high-impact contract role, offering the opportunity to lead finance through a transformational period, completing a major integration project, providing stability to the local finance team and positioning the business for future growth. You will work closely with senior operational and finance leadership to drive delivery, embed governance and establish the finance function as a trusted partner within the German operations.

This role suits a self-sufficient, commercially astute finance leader with strong project management capability, the confidence to lead across cultures and languages and the ability to thrive in a fluid, fast-moving environment.

COMPANY

Following recent acquisition activity and integration initiatives, the business is now consolidating its German operations and preparing for further strategic expansion. Finance plays a central role in this - providing integration leadership, operational insight and governance as the business evolves.

OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to senior divisional leadership, you will lead the completion of a significant integration project whilst managing and developing the local finance team in Germany.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
