Finatal are partnered with a high-growth, private equity-backed software business who are seeking an experienced Interim Finance Director to join the leadership team during a pivotal stage of its evolution.

Working as the number two to an industry-leading CFO, you will play a critical role in professionalising the finance function, supporting strategic initiatives and helping prepare the business for an anticipated exit within the next two years.

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to an individual who thrives in fast-paced, PE-backed environments and has a proven track record of delivering complex transformation programmes while maintaining best-in-class financial control and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the CFO and executive team to drive the finance agenda across the business.
  • Lead the transformation of the finance function, enhancing processes, controls, systems and reporting capabilities.
  • Play a key role in the implementation of a new ERP system, ensuring successful integration across the organisation.
  • Support the restructuring and scaling of the finance team to meet the demands of a growing business.
  • Drive improvements in financial reporting, consolidations, controls and governance.
  • Support an active M&A agenda, including acquisition integration and finance due diligence activities.
  • Help prepare the business for a future private equity exit, ensuring finance is operating at institutional-grade standards.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA, ideally with an audit-trained background.
  • Proven experience operating at Finance Director level within a PE-backed business.
  • Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise.
  • Experience supporting M&A transactions, acquisitions and post-deal integrations.
  • Previous involvement in a private equity exit process highly desirable.
  • Experience within software, technology or recurring revenue businesses is advantageous.
