Interim Finance Director 9-Month Fixed-Term Contract / Day Rate Contract London (Hybrid Working)

The Opportunity

A leading global media organisation is seeking an experienced Interim Finance Director to join the business for an initial 9-month assignment. Reporting to the CFO and working closely with senior leadership teams, you will provide strategic financial leadership during a period of business transformation and commercial growth.

This is a highly visible role that requires an accomplished finance leader with a strong track record of operating in fast-paced, complex environments. The successful candidate will oversee financial planning, reporting, business partnering, and operational finance while driving improvements across processes, controls, and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic finance leadership to the executive team and wider business.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes.
  • Deliver insightful financial analysis to support commercial decision making.
  • Drive business performance through effective KPI management and reporting.
  • Oversee month-end, year-end and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Ensure robust financial controls, governance and compliance.
  • Partner with operational and commercial stakeholders across multiple business areas.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
  • Support ongoing transformation, change and process improvement initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CFO and executive leadership team.

About You

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience operating at Finance Director level within a sizeable organisation.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Experience within media, entertainment, technology, digital, telecommunications or other fast-paced consumer-facing sectors.
  • Demonstrable track record of leading finance teams through periods of change.
  • Strong financial planning, analysis, reporting and control experience.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Available to start within a short notice period.
