Role Overview

This role sits within a small finance team and is responsible for taking full ownership of all month-end accounting/reporting as well as system and process improvement activities. This is also suited to someone who has worked in a manufacturing environment with experience of inventory management and product costing.

My client are a manufacturing business in the SME space and have ambitious growth plans over the next 3-5 years.

Description

The key responsibilities within this role:

  • Deliver accurate and timely monthly management accounts and take ownership of the month-end close process
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls
  • Prepare VAT returns
  • Produce weekly cash flow forecasts
  • Produce insightful sales, margin, and profitability reporting
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and business planning
  • Develop KPI reporting for operational and senior management teams
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability and working capital
  • Develop meaningful inventory reporting
  • Improve stock controls and reporting accuracy
  • Support implementation of an enhanced costing methodology
  • Improve finance processes.
  • Support automation and reporting improvements.
  • Enhance management information.
  • Help build a finance function capable of supporting the next stage of business growth

The Successful Candidate

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
  • Experienced within manufacturing, distribution, or another product-based business
  • Commercially curious and naturally analytical.
  • Comfortable working with colleagues outside Finance.
  • Confident improving processes rather than simply maintaining them
  • Experience of inventory accounting, product costing, or ERP systems would be a significant advantage

Job Offer

This is a day rate position (inside IR35) and is paying a very competitive rate. Applicants should be based locally as this role requires 5 days a week onsite in Gloucester.
