Interim Finance Manager (Multi-Academy Trust)

3-month contract
Buckinghamshire (Hybrid)

A Buckinghamshire-based Multi-Academy Trust is seeking an Interim Finance Manager to provide hands-on support across core finance operations and reporting for an initial 3-month assignment. This is a great opportunity for an experienced school/MAT finance professional to step into a fast-paced environment, bring stability, and help keep the finance function running smoothly.

The assignment

You'll work closely with the Trust's senior leadership and finance team to ensure robust day-to-day finance delivery, accurate reporting, and strong financial controls across the MAT.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee and support day-to-day finance operations (purchase ledger, sales ledger, banking, reconciliations)
  • Manage month-end processes and production of timely management information
  • Support budget monitoring, forecasting, and variance analysis across schools
  • Ensure compliance with MAT financial procedures and internal controls
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders (school business leaders, headteachers, central teams) to resolve finance queries
  • Support preparation for audit and any reporting requirements (as needed)
  • Help identify process improvements and implement practical fixes quickly

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
