Power BI Reporting Analyst
We're looking for an experienced Power BI Reporting Analyst to play a key role in transforming our finance reporting capability.
Working closely with our FP&A Manager, finance team and wider business stakeholders, you'll help implement Power BI as our primary finance reporting platform, supporting the transition from Cognos and creating insightful management reporting that drives better decision-making.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys turning complex data into clear, meaningful reporting and wants to be part of an important business transformation project. This is a 6 month fixed term contract with the benefit of hybrid working where you will spend your time between our Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire HQ and home.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the implementation of Power BI as the main finance reporting platform.
- Working with finance and business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and identify priority data sets.
- Designing, building and maintaining Power BI dashboards, reports and data models.
- Writing SQL queries to extract, transform and validate data from source systems.
- Developing DAX calculations and measures to support scalable and accurate reporting.
- Reviewing existing Cognos reports and mapping them to future Power BI solutions.
- Testing, reconciling and validating data to ensure reporting accuracy.
- Creating clear documentation, data definitions and handover materials.

Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience using Power BI to build dashboards, reports and data models.
- Good knowledge of SQL and DAX.
- Experience working with business intelligence tools, structured data sets and reporting environments.
- Ability to translate business requirements into practical reporting solutions.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- A focus on data accuracy, validation and reconciliation.
- Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience within finance, FP&A or management reporting environments would be beneficial.
- Previous Cognos experience would be an advantage.
