Interim Finance Services Director
Location: Paddington 2x days a week, Newbury based 1-2x days a week
Duration: 6-12 month (potential extension)
Day Rate: competitive - dependant on experience
The Opportunity
A global organisation is seeking an experienced Interim Finance Services Director to lead a large-scale international finance operations function through a period of ongoing transformation and growth.
This is a highly visible leadership role, responsible for overseeing complex finance service delivery across multiple geographies, driving operational excellence, improving customer experience, and ensuring the highest standards of governance, compliance and performance.
The successful candidate will lead sizeable geographically dispersed teams, partner with senior executives across multiple business units, and play a key role in shaping the future of finance services through automation, standardisation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for a large global finance services function.
- Drive service excellence, productivity improvements and operational efficiency across multiple regions.
- Lead large, multicultural teams, fostering a high-performance and customer-focused culture.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, influencing at executive level and acting as a trusted advisor.
- Champion finance transformation programmes, including process optimisation, automation and digital initiatives.
- Ensure robust financial controls, risk management and regulatory compliance across all finance operations.
- Oversee service delivery performance, workforce planning, budgeting and business continuity activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction whilst delivering measurable cost and productivity benefits.

About You
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of finance leadership, operational excellence and transformation expertise gained within a large, complex international environment.
You will likely have:
- Qualified accountant status (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Extensive experience leading large-scale finance operations, shared services or global business services functions.
- A proven track record of managing international teams across multiple locations and cultures.
- Strong experience delivering large-scale transformation, automation and process improvement programmes.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and executive audiences.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, governance, compliance and risk management.
- Experience operating within complex, matrixed organisations
