Job Introduction

Interim Finance Systems & Process Improvement Lead

Financial Controller level or just below | 3–6 month contract | 5 days per week | Runcorn / hybrid

The role

We’re looking for a hands-on interim finance professional who can get under the bonnet of our finance function, work out what’s creaking, and build the fix.

This is a delivery role, not an advisory one. We want someone who can diagnose the gaps, roll up their sleeves and improve the underlying systems and processes themselves.

We run NetSuite, so strong practical knowledge of the platform is essential.

Your first 4–8 weeks

You’ll Have Two Big Priorities

  • Treasury and cashflow modelling & reporting — including a likely rebuild of our existing cashflow forecasting model
  • AR and AP process improvement — an end-to-end review covering collections, approvals, controls and the impact on month-end

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

In short: find the friction, fix the process, make the numbers better.

The broader mission

Once the immediate priorities are under control, you’ll also:

  • Identify and implement opportunities to automate manual and repetitive finance tasks, making full use of NetSuite functionality
  • Support the development of financial and non-financial reporting, including KPIs and management reporting
  • Document the improved processes so the permanent team can pick things up without needing a decoder ring
  • Leave the finance function in a better, cleaner and more scalable place than you found it

What we’re looking for

You’ll be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with FC-level or senior finance manager experience, plus:

  • Strong NetSuite experience, including configuration and reporting — not simply end-user experience
  • Advanced financial modelling skills, particularly cashflow and treasury forecasting
  • A demonstrable track record of finance process improvement and automation
  • Experience working in a business of similar size and complexity
  • The ability to work independently, move quickly and get things done without needing extensive hand-holding
  • A practical mindset: you’re as comfortable improving a process as you are explaining why it needs improving
