Interim Finance Transformation & Controls Lead

Contract: Fixed-term or interim contract, 6–12 months Reporting to: Group Financial Controller

We are looking for an experienced Interim Finance Transformation & Controls Lead to take a central role in strengthening our financial control environment and delivering a significant programme of finance transformation.

Working closely with the Group Financial Controller, finance colleagues, operational stakeholders and an external SOX consultant, you will lead the implementation of SOX-aligned controls, document end-to-end finance processes and identify practical opportunities to improve efficiency and automation.

You will also act as the finance lead for the Group’s Sage X3 implementation, coordinating key finance workstreams including requirements gathering, data migration and user acceptance testing.

This is a hands-on assignment for a qualified finance professional who can quickly understand complex processes, identify control weaknesses and translate requirements into clear, workable solutions.

  • Work alongside the SOX consultant to design and implement SOX-aligned financial controls.
  • Review and document end-to-end finance processes across the Group.
  • Identify control gaps and develop clear remediation actions.
  • Drive process improvement, standardisation and automation opportunities.
  • Lead the finance workstreams supporting the implementation of Sage X3.
  • Coordinate finance requirements, data migration and user acceptance testing.
  • Develop and embed finance policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
  • Build effective relationships across finance and operations.
  • Keep stakeholders informed of progress, risks, dependencies and required decisions.

About you

You will be a confident finance transformation professional with strong technical knowledge and the ability to turn complex requirements into practical actions.

You will bring:

  • A recognised accountancy qualification, such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
  • Strong financial controls experience.
  • Experience supporting or delivering ERP implementations.
  • Demonstrable process improvement expertise.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • The ability to work across finance and operational teams.
  • A pragmatic, hands-on and delivery-focused approach.
