Hays are supporting an established organisation in Shropshire to recruit an Interim Financial Accountant for an immediate requirement within a busy finance team.
Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will support the delivery and maintenance of long-term business plans, financial forecasting, and financial reporting. A key focus of the role will be providing robust financial analysis, modelling, and insight to support financial sustainability and strategic decision-making. You will be responsible for:
- Monitoring long-term financial plans
- Producing monthly forecasts and management information
- Preparing management accounts
- Supporting wider budgeting and forecasting activities
- Preparing cash flow forecasts, quarterly VAT returns, KPI reporting, payroll checks, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensuring financial information is accurate, timely, and reliable

What you'll need to succeed
We're looking for a part-qualified or qualified accountant with strong Excel, analytical, and reporting skills. Experience of financial planning, forecasting, management reporting, and financial analysis is essential. You will be comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities, and delivering high-quality outputs within a fast-paced environment. Key requirements include:
- Strong Excel, reporting, and financial modelling skills
- Experience preparing management accounts and forecasts
- Financial planning, budgeting, and business planning experience
- VAT and balance sheet reconciliation experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Proactive approach and willingness to learn
