Interim Financial Accountant (SORP)
Location: Oxford
Working arrangement: Onsite most days in Oxford
Contract: Interim, initially 3–6 months
An established not-for-profit organisation in Oxford is seeking a qualified Interim Financial Accountant to support the finance team through year-end.
The role will focus on preparing accurate year-end accounts, completing balance sheet reconciliations, supporting the external audit, and resolving outstanding accounting issues.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the year-end close and preparation of statutory accounts.
- Complete and review balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor queries.
- Review accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and restricted funds.
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Ensure financial records and supporting documentation are complete and accurate.
- Assist with finance process improvements where required.

Candidate Profile
- Fully qualified accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, or equivalent.
- Financial accounting experience gained within a not-for-profit, charity, or similar organisation (College or School).
- Strong year-end, audit, and balance sheet experience.
- Practical knowledge of charity accounting and the Charities SORP.
